Racing 2 Save Lives at Pikes Peak Int'l Raceway a Huge Success!

The second annual Racing 2 Save Lives event to benefit Children Charities from May 11-15 brought motorcycle riders and racers in from all over the country; including Team Green Kawasaki's AMA Pro Jessica Zaluski and RoadRace for Kids' Michael Newhouse from Texas. Even after spending a full day on the track to sort out her bikes, Jessica always had time for the kids. "They're just wonderful and I enjoy being able to talk with them. I can't wait to come back next year!"

By Sunday, the Racing 2 Save Lives staff was able to present a check showing over $130,000.00 raised for the five children's charities. "What's so remarkable is the fact that R2SL has been able to give money to the charities right from the start at last years event, and it looks as if they have doubled at this years event" exclaimed Dave Rogers, Director of the Missing Children Task Force. "When I came out here on Wednesday, I expected to see only a handful of riders, and was blown away by the fact that they had a full pit and garages with at least forty bikes out on the track!" Over the five-day event, more than 200 riders, consisting of both street and race, logged over forty thousand miles.

Stan Foxworthy, Marketing Director of Racing 2 Save Lives had this to say about the event. "We had a fantastic showing, and the community was quite generous in helping us along with our goals, but what really made the event such a huge success was partnering up with Pikes Peak International Raceway. Rob Johnson, President of PPIR has an amazing team here. Arlene, Skinny, Tony and the rest of the staff really pulled out the stops for us. We couldn't have done it with out them! We've already begun planning for next year's event... This year's event proved to be so popular, we are looking to add two more days for street rider participation and we've already got some great surprises in store for 2006!"

Sharon Foxworthy is currently enrolled at CTU, pursuing her bachelor's degree in Visual Communications, and a degree in Business Administration. She is the Creative Director for Racing 2 Save Lives, and a founding board member for the Charity.
